    Performance Year 2018 Feedback
    December 6, 2019
    Submit MIPS Data
    January 8, 2020

Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) Eligibility and Important Dates

    December 6, 2019

Providers should check their MIPS eligibility for performance year 2019 as soon as possible; MIPS-eligible providers must submit data or receive a negative adjustment in Medicare Part B reimbursements.

Providers who are MIPS-eligible for 2019 but do not submit data for 2019 will receive a negative seven percent adjustment in Medicare Part B reimbursements in 2021. Providers who do submit data and score highly across the MIPS performance categories will be eligible for a positive adjustment.

Visit qpp.cms.gov to check your MIPS eligibility.

    Program Dates

Performance year 2019 ends on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 and performance year 2020 begins on Wednesday, January 1, 2020. MIPS-eligible providers will submit performance data for 2019 between January 2, 2020 and March 31, 2020.

If your practice would like to apply for a hardship exemption from performance year 2019, apply by December 31, 2019 at: https://cmsqualitysupport.service-now.com/exception_application.do.

Reasons for exemptions include practice closure, bankruptcy of practice, or decertification of the practice’s EHR.
