New on the NYC REACH Resource Library

            March 30, 2018

New resources are available to support providers in using a patient portal and understanding changes to Merit-based Incentive Payment System scoring in the 2018 performance year.

            Patient Portal Resources

NYC REACH has developed resources to support providers in using the patient portal. The following are now available on the NYC REACH resource library.

            • Recorded Webinar: Patient Portal Best Practices – demonstrates the benefits of a patient portal and how to use it to achieve Meaningful Use.
            • Fact Sheet: Patient Portal Tips & Tricks – includes tips to assist practices on effectively using the patient portal and engaging patients in the process to maximize its benefits.
            • Patient Portal Poster – designed for practices to post at the front desk or give to patients; a basic explanation of the portal and a reminder for patients to sign in.
*This document is only available in English at this time. NYC REACH will notify providers when it is translated into other commonly used languages.

New MIPS Cost Performance Category Fact Sheet

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has created a 2018 Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) Cost Performance Category Fact Sheet.

Eligible clinicians can reference this document to understand Cost category performance measures and scoring in the 2018 performance year.  The Cost performance score will now count for 10% of an eligible clinician’s total MIPS score. In performance year 2017, Cost was not counted toward the total MIPS score.

Click here to access the resource library. The Meaningful Use folder contains Patient Portal resources; the Quality Payment Program (QPP) folder contains MIPS resources.
