The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene is offering free Buprenorphine Waiver Trainings for physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants.

The 8-hour trainings consist of 4 hours of online training followed by 4 hours of in-person training. The course fulfills the 8 hours of training required for physicians to apply for a waiver, and counts toward the 24 hours of training required for nurse practitioners and physician assistants to apply for a waiver. Any physician, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant can prescribe buprenorphine after obtaining a waiver.

Dates and locations for the in-person trainings in October and November are listed below. Registration is required to attend a training. After registering, attendees will receive details about the online training that must be completed beforehand.
