Providers can refer children with asthma to the NYC Healthy Neighborhoods Program (HNP), which offers free home assessments of environmental asthma triggers.
Families are eligible to receive a home assessment if a person younger than 21 with diagnosed persistent asthma lives in the home and the family has seen pests (mice or cockroaches) in the home.
HNP staff work with building managers to resolve any issues uncovered in the home assessment.
