The New York City Health Department has developed resources to promote the health of LGBTQ patients, including the LGBTQ Health Care Bill of Rights and an online LGBTQ-knowledgeable provider directory.
LGBTQ Health Care Bill of Rights
The LGBTQ Health Care Bill of Rights details the legal protections available to LGBQ and transgender, gender non-conforming, and non-binary (TGNCNB) patients in New York City health care settings. Providers and patients can visit the LGBTQ Health page to read the Bill of Rights and find other information on LGBTQ health. Providers can complete this form to order a Bill of Rights Starter Kit.
NYC HealthMap: LGBTQ Health Services
The NYC HealthMap includes an online directory to help New Yorkers identify LGBTQ-knowledgeable providers and affirming health care services. Providers who are interested in being listed as an LGBTQ-knowledgeable provider on the NYC HealthMap can e-mail lgbtqhealth@health.nyc.gov and request to complete a survey.
Please direct any questions about the LGBTQ Health Care Bill of Rights or the LGBTQ services on the NYC HealthMap to lgbtqhealth@health.nyc.gov.
