Tobacco Treatment: Supporting Asian New Yorkers Who Smoke

April 5, 2023 @ 12:00 pm 1:00 pm

Join us for a webinar on how healthcare providers can support all their patients who smoke by promoting treatment—regardless of their readiness to quit. Asian New Yorkers are more likely to smoke and less likely to take advantage of treatments like nicotine replacement therapy. The following topics will be covered in the webinar:

  • Smoking prevalence and health risks
  • Patient counseling strategies
  • Treatment options (including nicotine replacement therapy or NRT)
  • Available tools to support treatment, billing, and patient education.

Our featured speaker is Dr. Achala Talati, Director of the Tobacco Policy and Programs Unit at NYC DOHMH.

This webinar is brought to you by NYC REACH in collaboration with NYC Treats Tobacco and the Tobacco Policy and Programs Unit at NYC DOHMH.
