Clinicians interesting in participating in the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) as a virtual group in 2019 can now begin the election process, which must be completed by December 31, 2018.

Clinicians can participate in MIPS as an individual, group, or virtual group. A virtual group is a combination of two or more TINS comprised of the following:

• One or more solo practitioners who are eligible to participate in MIPs; OR
• One or more groups comprised of 10 or fewer clinicians (groups must include at least 1 MIPS-eligible clinician and each group is considered to be its own TIN); OR
• A combination of these two options
