The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services now refers to all Medicare & Medicaid EHR Incentive programs as Promoting Interoperability programs.

In addition, the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System’s Advancing Care Information performance category is now called the Promoting Interoperability performance category.

This name change is intended to reflect the programs’ focus on improving interoperability and patient access to health information. This change does not impact NY Medicaid EHR Incentive Program (Meaningful Use) objectives and measures.
