NYC REACH is committed to providing you with the latest updates on telehealth, billing, and other topics to support you through the COVID-19 emergency, reopening, and beyond. Please find below a checklist of our most urgent tips to support your continued response to COVID-19 response as infection rates rise across the city.
- Request Pulse Oximeters for Your Patients: Small practices can request free pulse oximeters to distribute to patients. Fill out the request form here. Guidance on distributing and using pulse oximeters is available in multiple languages here; scroll down to the Pulse Oximeter section to download these resources.
- Check Your PPE Supply: Set a goal to stockpile enough PPE for the next 90 days. Use the CDC’s burn rate calculator to guide your planning.
- Prescribe Home Blood Pressure Monitors: Do all your high-risk patients that need to routinely monitor their blood pressure have a blood pressure monitor at home? Prescribe home blood pressure monitors to patients that need them. Find a list of validated devices here. Insurance companies often cover lower cost monitors.
- Review Risk and Triage Recommendations: Review the NYC Health Department’s recommendations for identifying adult patients at higher risk for severe COVID-19, and for monitoring suspected or confirmed COVID-19. Review NYC REACH’s Proactive Patient Outreach Guide as you plan next steps.
- Continue to Administer Flu Shots: Have your high-risk patients received a flu shot? Review the same COVID-19 Providers Triage for At-Risk Adults tip sheet to identify patients to prioritize for flu shots.
- Review telehealth workflows: Is your practice equipped to deliver telehealth services or have the resources necessary to transition to telehealth services? Sign up for our telehealth webinar on Thursday, December 17 to brush up on current telehealth best practices and policies.
