NYC REACH provides support on several projects aimed to develop skillset among non-provider staff members (e.g., medical assistants) in order to involve them in the care among chronically ill patients in the small practice setting.
DAP provides training to medical assistants in small practices to play a role in diabetes self-management support to patients. Training includes patient-centered techniques to help enable patients to adhere to their medication, manage stress, and become more informed about the care they need to better manage their condition.
