The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS) announced the renaming of the Medicare & Medicaid EHR Incentive Programs to Promoting Interoperability Programs.

This name change is intended to reflect the programs’ focus on improving interoperability and patients’ access to health information. This change does not impact the NY Medicaid EHR Incentive Program’s objectives and measures.

NYC REACH will continue to refer to the NY Medicaid EHR Incentive Program as Meaningful Use.
